Storm Broadcast’s stand at this year’s Media Production and Technology Show was, we’re happy to say, a success! Below is a quick recap of what we had on the show.
Exhibitions are busy and time-consuming events that can nonetheless be extremely rewarding, with being able to demonstrate our solutions to the many enthusiastic visitors to the show was a great pleasure. We made the decision to include a green screen on our stand, which made practical demonstrations of Brainstorm’s InfintySet possible. It was certainly worth the extra effort, as InfinitySet has recently upgraded to Version 5 and we were very happy to be able to show off the new features within it using a live chromakeyed feed. The revised ‘Stack XPoint’ is one of my favourite new features, which allows various inputs to be present on a single virtual monitor. These inputs can be moved, resized and layered for incredibly powerful results.
Side by side with InfinitySet we had Brainstorm’s Aston, another solution to benefit hugely from the recent upgrade to Version 5, where we incorporated traditional graphics as well as AR ones inside our set. We demonstrated the ability to trigger both the graphics and the actions within the virtual set using the excellent Dyvi production switcher from EVS. Although not a traditional workflow, it is one that has much value within some productions and an enormous amount of potential. The Dyvi certainly attracted a large amount of interest, and Ian Futter from EVS was there to help demonstrate its brilliant features.
We were joined on our stand by representatives from Moov, who were showcasing some of their recent work using Brainstorm’s InfinitySet. It was great to put some faces to names, and we thank them for joining us!
Beyond our stand, it was a wonderful event which had a very healthy visitor count with lots of fascinating stands. Naturally, of particular interest to us were the stands on virtual production. Virtual production using LED volumes continues to grow in popularity, which sits nicely with InfinitySet 5’s new XR capabilities. New camera tracking technology and methods were also on show, which we were very excited to look into! Stay tuned on this.
Finally, a big thank you to the Brainstorm and EVS team members for their help this year!
